Contribution

We worked in a team of 7 members with each their own specialties for final decision making.

Game Production

Game production entailed ensuring a smooth workflow among the developers whilst keeping up with the GitHub and being a scrum master. I dealt with communication between developers as well as challenged them to learn new things.

During the process, I arranged meetings with the other producers to organize two expositions on campus as opportunities to gain playtesters and win prizes.

Combining concept art and UI Design in order to create prototypes.

As a multifaceted team member I aimed to work as efficiently as possible, combining art with UI Design. This also ensured we would create a strong atmosphere for the game, centering Low-poly, animalistic beings living in Greek mythology.

Making the UI Low-poly, but Greek

Since the game has a a specific subject and style, the UI had to adhere to this standard.

Font Priori Sans was chosen based on a user test and the Greek-feeling details in its typography. Other fonts were too stereotypically Greek and unfitting for the low-poly aesthetic.

Then, for the textbox I researched possible corners for a meander that would surround it, adding to the Greek-feel. The corners are also shaped after the iconic ears of our bunny hero.

Another notable detail is Lago’s healthbar. It is diamond shaped for a reason. Lago is helped by owl-goddess Athiya, based on Athena. Greek mythology cites the diamond shape to be a symbol for Athena and would also be used in the shrines were Lago can heal and save, Shown in the most right picture.

2D Animation

The trailers for the games were my very first attempts at ever animating.

During the first look trailer, we aimed to reveal a bit of storytelling about Lago’s origin. Visually, we hadn’t found our style just yet.

However, in the final trailer we committed to the Greek style by making it a terracotta vase style. The idea came from animated historical shows using flat 2d animations in their introductions. Think Emperor Kuzco, Hercules and Prince of Egypt. Lago is also notably more expressive in his 2D form.
